Credit Card Merchant Accounts?

Question by DMG: Credit Card Merchant Accounts?
I recently submitted an application for a business credit card merchant account. It is an existing business with an existing merchant account with another company. This new provider wants me to give them my social security number even though the company has its own EIN/tax ID. Why would they want my social? Does this open me up to financial liabilities of the company? I know if they hard pull my credit information, this has a negative impact on my personal credit rating. The other option is to jump through hoops of sending several years tax returns and months of bank statements. What is the best course of action?
We have been in business for almost 7 years so it is not from lack of history.
This is not for a business credit card, it is for a merchant account to process credit cards.

Answer by RIP LUCY
Just give them your social. Sounds like they will approve your application, based upon your credit. One inquiry isn’t that harmfull and this way is way easier.

Credit card guidlines?

Question by ev1go: Credit card guidlines?
In regaurds to credit card fraud. Are all credit cards protected against fraud? So it doesn’t matter what credit card you have, you can always disbute a bill or a charge to the account?

Best answer:

Answer by Corporate America !!
If someone, other than yourself, had made unauthorized charges on your acct, so long as you reported it after receiving your billing statement, then the credit card company can only hold you liable for no more than $ 50. This is the standard policy across the nation, unless your state has consumer protection laws that protects you from this $ 50 liability limit. Its important to always review the status of your credit card account more often than one month. Although the statement is only mailed out monthly, most (if not all) credit card companies allow you to access the account online, so you can look it over and see if there had been any fraudulent charges made on it. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are favorite targets for fraud. If you have any one of these credit cards, its best to go online twice a week (or more) and inspect for fraudulent charges.

I have been building my credit and i have an aspen card and a continental card what are other good credit building cards?

Best answer:

Answer by TaxMaven
NONE. Geez, you already tanked your credit & now you want to get more BRAND NEW credit cards to trash?! Come on! Credit has not been a blessing in your life so far. I’m not trying to be mean to you. I’ve been broke before, but I learned my lesson. Consequently, I have not opened a credit account of any kind since 2002. I pay cash for everything (even cars) b/c I live on less than I make & save for big purchases & emergencies. You should try it. My freaking house is almost paid for, & I have so much peace about my finances that it scares all my broke relatives. I use Dave Ramsey’s “Total Money Makeover”. At least grab a copy from your local library or bookstore & read it before you go off thinking that you need “good credit” to have a good life.

Q&A: Student credit card?

Question by Korey B: Student credit card?
I am looking for a good student credit card to see my through college. Where can I go?

Best answer:

Answer by William S
I’ve linked both a list of student credit cards, and a page about managing your credit. Don’t assume you can only get the student cards, though; as long as you have a good credit rating, you can get good cards even with low income. (I’m a student myself, but none of my cards are student cards, and the limits are decent)
