high risk merchant services Merchant Account FAQ

What is a merchant account?

A merchant account is the ability for a business of any kind to accept credit cards and debit cards for payment. It is sometimes referred to as credit card processing or merchant services. A merchant account is issued by a processing bank who then underwrites the account much like a loan. The purpose of this account is to receive and disburse funds from credit card transactions.

How much are your set up fees?

Typically no setup fees. However this depends on which credit card processing company you choose and type of equipment you need.

How much are you application fees?

There are no application fees.

What will it cost out of my pocket to get set up?

There are no fees to get set up.

How long does it take to get set up?

Your equipment will be shipped to you approximately 24-48 hours after we receive your paperwork.

What if I claimed bankruptcy?

Bankruptcy is a small problem for PMC but we can still get it done in most cases. A terminated merchant account in the past is worse as well as tax liens but none are the end of the world. We have a 98% approval rate due to the outstanding rapport we have with our banks and processors. In most cases we can get this done. A bankruptcy discharge may be needed.

Can I list another person as part owner or the guarantor?

Yes. This is done in cases where a merchant was previously put on a terminated merchant file.

Does the amount monthly processing volume affect an approval?

In most situations yes. If a merchant needs a high amount of processing volume a processing bank will request information validating this. Typical documents that are requested are business financials, tax returns, previous processing statements and banking statements. Typically we can have an approval of $50,000 in monthly processing volume relatively easy.

How does the money from each transaction get in my hands?

Some credit card processors will send you check. PMC will use a direct deposit right into your business or personal checking account. This typically takes 24-48 hours from the time the transaction is fully processed.

Do I need a business checking account?

Most merchant service providers do require a business checking account in order to set up the direct deposit of funds into your account but not all. PMC has both. International case by case.  See out International processing page.

Check by Phone Software

Will Banks Accept these Checks?

Yes! Most all banks will accept these checks. The program provides you with the micr font which is the font style that you see at the bottom of all checks. And, most banks use optical scanning equipment to read the numbers at the bottom of the check.

Do I need magnetic ink for my printer?

No! Just your regular printer ink.

What kind of printer is necessary?

You should use a Bubble Jet, Ink Jet or Laser Printer! You want to at least have the micr font very readable! The old Daisy Wheel and Dot Matrix Printers do not fill in the fonts as full.

What kind of paper?

The program will print on ANY blank paper! But, you should buy blank check stock because it’s the best for quality and security! I have used a high quality 24lb bond granite style paper bought from a regular office supply and the bank never said anything!

Where can I get this paper?

Most cities have office supply stores or bank supply houses which offer blank check paper! Ask your bank who supplies them! Also, the author of the software sells it also and is very reasonable priced.

How do I receive this product?

Immediately via download over the Internet! Shortly after your order is processed, you will receive an email with the download location!

How do I get the customers to sign the checks?

You don’t! The program prints a statement in the signature area of the check that is acceptable to ALL banks!

How can a business benefit by using this software?

There are MANY reasons having this software is a GREAT benefit for your business. Because you can accept a check immediately over the phone, fax, or email, you can close an impulse sale. Also, all those people out there without credit cards are now your immediate prospects and not “The Checks In The Mail” customers! You can have a check in your hands immediately. No more waiting 4-7 days for Uncle Sam to deliver your orders. Also, you can even use this for monthly subscription type services, by printing a new check once a month, or whenever the fees are due! How about to save on credit card fees and stop charge backs! I’m sure you could come up with many other reasons!
